Niiki Pharma is a development focused oncology company specializing in first-in-class cancer treatments directed at novel cellular targets and related companion diagnostics. In 2008, Niiki Pharma acquired a series of novel first-in-class anti-cancer compounds. By 2009, Niiki Pharma completed the required preclinical testing and other product development steps to obtain US FDA and UK MHRA clearance to begin clinical trials for its lead compound NKP-1339. NKP-1339 has now reached end of Phase I dose escalation trial. The company has also completed the NKP-2235 required preclinical and formulation work resulting in FDA IND approval in 2011. A Phase I clinical trial of NKP-2335 will begin shortly.
The Niiki Pharma team has decades of experience in anti-cancer drug development and marketing, with members who have held senior positions in the oncology divisions of premier global pharmaceutical companies such as Roche, Johnson & Johnson, Pharmacia / Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Collectively, the team has been involved in the development of several well-known anti-cancer drugs, including: Aromasin®1, Abraxane®2, Campath®3, Camptosar®4, Dacogen®5, Ellence®6, Erbitux®7, Folotyn®8, Istodax®9, Sutent®10, Velcade®11 and Vidaza®12.
